Blister's Boiling Cauldron of Woe

You've arrived : don't worry about wiping your feet - it's only mud and the carpet's rubbish anyway...

(By the way, you are visitor number 102,998 - what good taste you have, and so did all the others who were NEVER SEEN AGAIN...)

MUWAHAHAhahahaaa......

Want To Know A Bit About Me?

"Music was my first love, and it will be my last"

Especially Lee Griffiths, Jackie Leven, (old) Verve, Spiritualized, Six By Seven, King Black Acid, Sianspheric, Embrace, but also rap (it's the new poetry), soul, blues, ... I know I'm too old for discos BUT I DO IT ANYWAY, I like it funky and loud...

"buy me an ounce and i'll sell you a pound"

... as e e cummings once wrote, cos he was a poet, and in fact he is my favourite poet ever. Others I like are Carol Ann Duffy, Ogden Nash and even Leonard Cohen, from which you can deduce that I am a RADICAL feminist, aging hippy pacifist, who likes a laff...

My favourite colour is - yes, you've guessed it - GREY!! and green and mauve and navy blue...

I hate all known forms of sport and those not yet invented - although I do possess roller-blades, reeboks and a really cool front fork suspension bike. I might go to an aerobics class next week (I only said "might") - Update: I DID go to an aerobics class, and broke a bone in my foot in the first five minutes...

My internet existence began in the old Microsoft-run V-Chat rooms, and  noodling on ICQ, but these days most of my online time is spent fragging on a Dutch Quake III Arena FREEZETAG server (195.11.243.34:27960/1) - LOOKOUT! I'm an Admin!! - and you either know what I'm talking about or you don't! These are the kind of places I hang out (Quake, music and shopping - well, what else is there?).

I Am Gorgeous

This is what I look like just about...the pic was taken four years ago, and I still need a haircut. You have to bear in mind that I'm 43 (dog) years old, and have two boys, Daniel (15) and Harry (11), so that accounts for the general look of haggardness.

Here are ten interesting facts about me :

1. I'm a housewife - this being the only career that enables me to avoid 'routine', which is anathema to me.

2. I'm a stereotypical Virgo : hypercritical of self and others, neat, repressed, logical, sensible (and ALWAYS right).

3. I have the best sense of humour, and am the funniest person I know - except  for John Cooper-Clarke, bless him.

4. I used to collect pomanders. Now I have three carrier bags full of the things, and don't know what to do with them. Bear this in mind when you start a collection...

5. I like sniffing things - this is as close as I get to a fetish, which I think is a bit sad really, cos a lot of people I know seem to have some really interesting ones...

6. I'm an intellectual - yes, I have a degree an' all, in Philosophy, but I got it over 20 years ago so it's probably out of date by now. My favourite philosopher is Heidegger : he didn't read newspapers and NEITHER DO I.

7. I have got larger-than-average feet - size 41 - and always wear sensible shoes and underwear. Always.

8. I am a fantastic dancer (well, the point is, Ienjoy it, and that's what counts) and love going out on the town, even though that town is BASINGSTOKE.

9. In the dog/cat debate, I'm with the cats. It never seems a fair contest to me anyway. My cat Bunty lives with my husband. Like any good cat, she is her own person and refuses to conform to stereotypes. She's a British Cream with teddy bear fur (shame she maults so much) and a diamonique collar, which is a hangover from Christmas. (Footnote: she lost it.) The cat I have now - Rascal -  thinks he's a dog.  That'll be the Maine Coon in him....

10. I wear contact lenses, and am never seen in public wearing my specs, cos they are made out of milk-bottle bottoms. I am EXTREMELY short-sighted. The joke about the girl tripping over a cow was based on me. *UPDATE* I've had LASIK eye surgery, and now have perfect vision. If you can afford it, don't think twice...just do it.

Well, that's all for now folks, but I'll be back soon to try to do some of the more tricky stuff that I am temporarily clueless about. In the meantime I'm off to listen to Radio Einstein.

Aren't YOU?
